The Lodge is a well-organized and comfortable facility, which lets you plunge into the real African athmosphere without abandoning all comforts of a first category hotel.
It's situated about 320 km far from Windhoek, close to the entrance of the
Namib Naukluft Park.
The hotel is composed of 45 bungalows around a central complex which includes the reception, the bar, the swimming pool, the terrace, the souvenir shop and the conference room.
The hotel also have a 43.000 hectares nature reserve where people may get guided excursions. Bungalows are comfortable and clean, they provide accommodation for 2 guests, private bathroom and a verandah with a fine view over dunes. Moreover, every room is provided with a safe-deposit box. A satellite telephone is available in the reception, but there is nor TV nor radio in the hotel.
The Sossusvlei Lodge is proud to be environment friendly, that's the reason why you won't find air conditioning in the bungalows, but only rotary fans, and in the bathrooms there is no bath but only a shower box.
Talking about food, the Lodge offers a wide range of different food, a sumptuous breakfast and the opportunity to have a customized menu.
In 2006 the Sossusvlei Lodge received the Gold Award of Excellence in the category "Best Lodge" of Namibia.
